Anna Chittenden, a senior at Mira Costa High, finished second in the Division 2 girls final at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Chittenden, who was sixth last year, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:32.0 to help the Mustangs place ninth overall with 291 points. Chittenden earned all-state honors again and qualified to compete Dec. 3 at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon.
